Approve a use claim only when evidence matches the exact film, food, direct-contact geometry, time, temperature, market and wording. “Food safe,” “microwave safe,” “freezer safe” and “for all foods” are not usable specifications without those limits.

Rewrite the claim as conditions

Proposed claim Missing facts to resolve
Microwave use Heating/reheating, contact, power/time, venting and product instruction
Freezer use Temperature, duration, food/package, cold handling and thaw route
For fatty foods Food category, contact conditions, material restrictions and migration evidence
Extends freshness Food, comparator, complete package, storage and study endpoints

Build one claim record

Record wording, SKU/material/thickness/revision/site, destination, foods, contact surface, maximum time/temperature, supplier instruction, regulatory basis, test sample, reviewer and change trigger. FDA publishes current food types and conditions of use; those tables help describe a U.S. use but do not approve an unidentified product.

Do not stretch the evidence

The FSAI’s cling film use guidance tells users to follow manufacturer instructions. YIYUAN’s report 202502010694 concerns one 400 mm × 0.013 mm PE sample; it cannot support every use claim. Keep shelf-life statements in the separate validation workflow and confirm the exact roll configuration before approving label text.
