Eight, 10 and 12 micron are trial points, not universal quality grades. Compare them with material, width, length, core, winding, cutter, tray and operator method held constant. Choose the lowest tested thickness that meets the written use criteria consistently.

Define the pass before seeing results

  • Pulls and cuts without uncontrolled tearing.
  • Covers the reference rim with the fixed overlap.
  • Meets the agreed hold time under the intended condition.
  • Remains usable at the start, middle and later part of the roll.

Do not compare different materials or box formats and call the result a thickness test. Blind-code rolls when possible so operators do not favor the thickest label.

Turn the result into an inspectable specification

After selection, state nominal thickness, controlling unit, tolerance, measurement method, sampling and functional reference. The thickness inspection guide covers that second decision. YIYUAN lists 8–12 micron as a typical range on the commercial roll page; it is not a promise that every material and format is offered at every value.
